Botox for Men – Bradford “Brotox”

Last year it was reported by plastic surgeons that Botox treatments for men had increased by a huge 70% in the UK!

Most of us have a man in our life, a father, a husband, a partner, or a friend that would benefit from some TLC in the form of an anti-ageing treatment. More and more men are turning towards treatments such as Botox (aka “Brotox” for our male patients) to reduce the signs of ageing and improve confidence levels. For those who are new to Botox, it is a non-surgical treatment that involves small doses of the drug, botulinum toxin, being injected into targeted areas of the face such as forehead lines, frown lines and crows’ feet, which blocks the signals between the nerves and the muscles, causing the muscles to relax. Over 5-7 days, the treatment then produces a look that is fresh, more youthful, and most importantly natural. The great news is that the treatment lasts between 3 to 4 months.

The great news is that the men in our lives are jumping on the Botox bandwagon and are looking much better for it! The results can be just to soften lines and refresh your look rather than giving you a smooth, glass-like forehead. A common worry is that having anti-wrinkle treatments will feminise a male face – this is a myth, but needs an experienced injector to conduct a thorough consultation and assessment of YOUR anatomy – we’re all unique and we each need a unique, bespoke treatment

Whilst the majority of men seeking treatments want to reduce the signs of ageing, more and more gents are now seeking Botox treatment for medical conditions, in particular, HYPERHYDROSIS which is a common condition caused by overactive sweat glands. This results in abnormally excessive sweating that is not necessarily related to heat or exercise. It can be embarrassing and uncomfortable, wet patches under the armpits, shirts and T-shirts ruined – sound familiar?  Most people attempt to resolve the issue themselves, only wearing dark clothes, using over the counter remedies and using topical antiperspirants prescribed by their GP, not realising there is a simple and successful treatment out there…………. Botox!

It is absolutely normal for us all to sweat, particularly if we feel hot or are exercising and the body’s normal response is to sweat as a way of cooling us down. HYPERHYDROSIS occurs when we do not actually need to cool down and it can affect the whole body or only certain areas such as our underarms and feet. When you’ve tried wearing loose-fitting clothes or used a stronger deodorant and it hasn’t reduced or resolved the condition, it may be time to consider Botox treatment. Here at Jayne Taylor Aesthetics, we treat hyperhidrosis frequently and very successfully. The condition affects more males than females, but the treatment is the same and is equally effective for both sexes. If you know someone who suffers from hyperhidrosis, point them in our direction. They could be just a consultation away from resolving the problem.

If you’re a gentleman reading this, call us for a consultation, you’ll never look back and if you’re a lady reading this, Father’s Day is fast approaching (Sunday 19 June). How great would it be to buy your favourite man the gift of turning back time!
