Sculptra

Sculptra is a type of dermal filler made up of a substance called poly-lactic acid that is often referred to as a “Liquid Facelift.” It is a very unique, long lasting, anti-aging injectable treatment that is placed via cannula,  deep into the tissue of both face, neck, hands and other suitable areas.

It works by stimulating your own, natural collagen and elastin production both of which, over time, progressively restore the skins natural structure, addressing sagging and loss of firmness, volume and radiance resulting in a plump, more youthful glow. It is perfect for treating deeper wrinkles in both men and women.

The results of Sculptra are gradual and natural looking. Sculptra is not a quick fix, it can take 6 to 10 months to see the full effects as the body requires time to reproduce lost collagen. Sculptra is a longer term commitment, by you, to your skin. You need to be a “patient patient”!

After treatment with Sculptra, 91% of people noticed improved skin radiance even up to two years later although “touch ups” may be required to ensure maintenance of your new, more youthful appearance.

Initially 2 treatments 4-6 weeks apart. Some individuals with large volume loss or higher levels of skin laxity may require between 2-4  initial treatments

30 – 60 minutes dependent upon the area to be treated.

Very little. The treatment is delivered by a cannula to allow for very specific placement.

No topical anaesthetic is needed– the Sculptra solution is mixed with Lidocaine to reduce discomfort during the treatment

Minimal. As with any injectable treatments there may be a small amount of swelling, redness and/or bruising which will subside within a few days.

A “Glow” followed by new collagen fibres can be seen in as little as only one week although final results will take 6-10 months to fully appreciate and 6 months is the earliest time to make decisions about future “touch up” treatments. This is a longer term commitment but is most definitely worth waiting for.
