WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE TREATMENT?
<
In PRP treatment, we take a small sample of blood from your arm and place this into a centrifuge.
The centrifuge separates out the platelet-rich plasma, which we add to a sterile syringe.
These platelets contain a high concentration of the proteins that are the building blocks of good skin.
We then inject the platelet-rich plasma into the areas of your skin that need the rejuvenation treatment.
When released back into your skin, these platelets stimulate the repair and healing of the surrounding tissue.
By stimulating the production of new collagen, they also help to increase volume in the skin.
HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?
The whole procedure takes about an hour.
ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS?
There are few if any side effects with PRP treatment, as the procedure only uses blood taken from your body.
We will talk through issues around side effects, and aftercare advice, during your consultation.
WHEN WILL I SEE THE RESULTS FROM MY PRP THERAPY TREATMENT?
PRP therapy works by stimulating the body’s natural processes for regenerating new collagen and skin tissue,
This means that you won’t see results immediately - they will appear gradually over a period of about 6 weeks.
As with all treatments, the final results depend on a number of factors, including the skin condition at the start of the treatment programme.
HOW MAY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
We normally recommend a course of 3 PRP sessions, with a top-up treatment once a year to maintain the results.
